Day 8, 07 th June 2024: Game Drive in the Ndutu Grasslands
The Ndutu region is a part of the glorious Serengeti National Park ecosystem as well as the Ngorongoro
Conservation Area (NCA). Heading out for a morning game drive after breakfast you might see lions and
their prey: wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo. When the rains come between December and April, these
fertile plains turn into a calving ground and nursery for the great migration of wildebeest. Lunch will be
back at the lodge and the afternoon will be yours to paint and relax or do some bird-watching. Dinner
and overnight at Ndutu Safari Lodge (watch for the Large-spotted Genet that frequents the dining
room)!

Day 9, 08 th June 2024: Ndutu to Central Serengeti Game Drive
The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa. On our
way to the next lodge we will pass the Serengeti “Kopjes” which are massive boulders of granite
standing in a sea of grass. They provide ample shelter to a large variety of flora and fauna. We will see a
lot of wildlife before lunch! We plan to have a box lunch along the way as we continue our game drive.
The lodge is located in the center of the well-known Seronera area of the Serengeti – where wildlife
tends to concentrate. We will enjoy spectacular Serengeti sunsets and sunrises from our porches
overlooking the sea of grass below. The afternoon will be free for you to paint and to relax. At night
listen to the trumpeting of elephant, the laughing of hyenas, the braying of zebras, and the roar (more
like a grunt) of the “Simba” or lion. Dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Serena Lodge.

Day 10, 09 th June 2024: Morning Game Drive in the Central Serengeti National Park
A safari in Tanzania is not complete without a day of game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. The
Serengeti, the habitat for an abundance of wildlife such as impala, buffalo, crocodile, and hippo, is also
well-known for its great migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. The animals’ trek is
determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. In November and December, the animals move
from the northern region, dominated by woodlands and hills, to the grassy plains of the south. During
the longer rainy season from April to June, they return to the north (Kenya). Apart from the migrating
herds, we may have the opportunity to see the resident predators, leopard, cheetah, and lion, fulfilling
their role in the circle of life. We may do a sunrise game drive before breakfast or we may eat first then
venture out to the Seronera area of the Park where many of the “day tourists” gather. This is the best
area to find leopards in the trees and maybe elephant, buffalo, lions and hippos along the way. Going
out early has its advantages: at day break one has the chance of sighting the nocturnal species returning
and also seeing the diurnal species waking up to a new day. We may take a box lunch with us to give us
the freedom to further explore this wildlife rich area. You’ll see the main Park Visitor Center as well.
After lunch we will drive back to the Serengeti Serena Lodge for dinner and overnight. The late
afternoon will be free for painting and relaxing.

in the bush.” Anything can happen when you are on a game drive in the Serengeti! Lunch will be back
at the lodge and the afternoon will be yours for painting, relaxing, packing, and bird-watching. Dinner
